Give us a small backstory of how your business started.
After some years of working as an employee for other salons, I became frustrated with not having more of a voice in my working environment, so I decided to make the leap to owning my own business. I was strongly motivated to establish a boutique, urban lux environment that encompassed the way we all wanted to feel along with our guests: creative, pampered and welcoming! In 2011, we sought to buy a completely new raw space in Lakeview. We designed our salon to suit our personal esthetic and now we able to provide services in surroundings our clients deserve.
What are some of your favorite moments of running your business?
Monumental of course was our opening of our current space! It was a culmination of a lot of hard work and a satisfying, rewarding experience for our team. It is an everyday honor to be able to help people feel good about themselves and to build relationships with members of the community. We enjoy taking part in our guest's real-life moments and also to originate art via our photo shoots for our own creative evolution.
What is one thing that many people may not know about you or your business?
I was trained in Hong Kong and London where I lived at the time. Most of our stylists are internationally trained and always expanding our skillsets. Our esthetician is a national skincare educator for the #1 rated organic professional grade skincare line - Green Envee. We believe in a “one on one” approach to providing customized service to our guests.
Do you have any hobbies that you do outside of running your business?
Music and singing/songwriting. I enjoy the process of doing most anything creative. My husband and I have a Malshi named Vito "The Godfather" that we love to spoil and spend time with.
What are some businesses you love in Lakeview or Roscoe Village?
Stella Grey Blooms, Sinya Mediterranean, Heritage Bicycle, Aura Candle Bar, and Cinnamon Boutique.
What are the best ways people can support your business right now?
Like many small businesses, shop at our location for quality products and recommendations. We consider referrals the highest compliment and have built our business through “word of mouth”.
