Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Dillon Goodson and Interim Executive Director Becca Girsch

Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Dillon Goodson and Interim Executive Director Becca Girsch

From Our Executive Director:

Dear community,

After spending nearly 14 years in a city that I love, I’m writing to share the news that this will be my last summer in Chicago. My wife Abby and I have decided to relocate closer to our family in St. Louis, which means I’ll be stepping away from the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce and my role as Executive Director at the end of July. While this move is bittersweet, I’m a firm believer that change is good. As I approach my seventh year at the Chamber, I’m filled with excitement about the opportunity our transition will create for our organization to recruit a new leader to steward our communities toward a bright future.

Among the many memories we’ll cherish about our time in Chicago, one of the greatest for me will be the opportunity to have served the vibrant and close-knit communities of Lakeview and Roscoe Village. I’ve drawn so much energy from local businesses and community leaders. You’ve inspired me with your creativity and are at the heart of what makes our work so rewarding. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished together and look forward to handing things over to our hardworking staff and dedicated leadership.

Like much of Chicago, our office at 1409 W. Addison St. is fully reopening five days a week beginning Monday, June 21. I hope you’ll take the opportunity to stop by and say hello, or as always you can reach any member of our team by emailing info@lrvcc.org.

With gratitude,

Dillon Goodson
Executive Director

From Our Board President:

Dear community,

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I’d like to thank Dillon for his service to the Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce. Since 2015, Dillon has had a strong presence in our communities, leading creative placemaking projects and economic development initiatives and providing tireless advocacy on behalf of local businesses during the COVID-19 crisis. We wish him and Abby well as they embark on their next journey together.

To provide leadership through this transition, I’m pleased to announce that Becca Girsch will assume the role of Interim Executive Director. Becca brings passion and personal experience to the position as a longtime Roscoe Village resident and past owner of a boutique on the Southport Corridor. She will be a familiar face to many as our current Business Services Director and former Board President of the Lakeview Chamber. We’re grateful to her for stepping up and look forward to having her vision and direction as we continue rolling out projects and initiatives in the coming months that benefit our communities. We’re also fortunate to have Dillon’s guidance throughout the six week transition.

Our Board of Directors—together with our partners, Lakeview Special Service Area (SSA) 27 and Friends of Lakeview—is assembling a search committee to secure a permanent Executive Director. There will be more information to share and we look forward to engaging with you throughout the process.

For now, I’d like to thank you—our local businesses and community members—for your continued support. As our city fully reopens and life begins to return to normal, our organization remains more committed than ever to ensuring that our communities remain strong and resilient for years to come.

Sincerely,

Sandy O’Kane
President
