Parent Accommodation and Family Support in the Treatment of OCD in Children and Adolescents - Webinar

July 10, 2024 | 12:00 - 1:30 PM CST

Join Compass Health Center for this free, 1.5 Credit CE on parent accommodation & family support in the treatment of OCD. Treatment for OCD can feel daunting for both child/adolescent and family. While OCD is very treatable, we know that early intervention and the role that caregivers provide is key to treatment success. In this CE, we will review and discuss diagnosis and symptoms of OCD, use of Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) when treating OCD, and how to address family accommodation that may contribute to maintenance of OCD symptoms.

Presenters:

  • Sonja Crockett, LCPC, Principal Family Therapist, Young Child Program, Chicago

  • Alex Stillman, LCSW, Principal Primary Therapist, Adolescent Program, Chicago

 Key Takeaways - Attendees Will:

  • Understand OCD and its subtypes

  • Gain an overview and goals of ERP

  • Learn how parents/caregivers can support ERP treatment
