Considering Matthew Shepard, by Craig Hella Johnson, explores the life, death and legacy of Matthew Shepard. With Artistic Director Michael Costello leading from the keyboard, CCA will present this moving three-part oratorio, which incorporates a variety of musical styles, poetic texts, passages from Matt’s personal journal, interviews and writings from his parents and newspaper reports. Matthew Shepard was a young, gay student at the University of Wyoming in Laramie who, in1998, was kidnapped, severely beaten, and tied to a fence. He died five days later.
