Single-Use Foodware Ordinance Implementation

Presented by City of Chicago Department of Business Affairs & Consumer Protection (BACP)

The single-use foodware ordinance requires food establishments to only provide single-use foodware either upon the request of the customer or at a self-service station. Single-use foodware means any eating utensil or other food service item intended for single use including forks, spoons, sporks, knifes, chopsticks, stirrers, drink stoppers, splash sticks, cocktail sticks, toothpicks, napkins, wet-wipes, cup sleeves, beverage trays, disposable plates, and condiment packets. The ordinance is effective on January 18, 2022. This webinar will review the requirements of the ordinance.
