Safety & Secuirty Resources
The Lakeview Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce has heard several recent safety incidents in our two neighborhoods. This is concerning and safety is always the priority for our communities. Whenever the Chamber hears about incidents, we communicate with the Chicago Police Department (CPD), the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, and the Aldermen’s Office. We encourage all residents and businesses to report any crimes to 911 and 311. CPD uses data from crime reports to distribute resources and plan patrols accordingly. As always please call 911 for any emergencies.
To continue to protect yourself and your business please consider some of the following initiatives and events:
Business Safety GroupMe:
If you are a business along a commercial corridor in West Lakeview and Roscoe Village, please consider joining the Business Safety GroupMe. GroupMe is a messaging app that allows users to text a whole group quickly. Businesses use this group to report recent or suspicious incidents in our local business districts. If you are interested in joining the GroupMe please let Erik Carlson know at erik@lrvcc.org and he can send you information about joining.
Link Cameras to OEMC Program:
Consider linking your security cameras to the OEMC Program which will allow the Office of Emergency Management and Communications respond faster and more efficiently to investigations. To learn more about this program you can find more info here.
Safety Rebate:
Any business or resident with SSA 27’s boundary can apply for a rebate to update or install security cameras. This rebate covers 50% of the project or up to $500. The application process is simple and there is a quick turnaround. Please learn more here.
