Local Business Spotlight - Plump Room
Meet Brittany Dickinson, owner of Plump Room, a new luxurious Botox bar in Lakeview. Brittany was actually introduced to the world of injectables as a dentist. Give us a small backstory of how your business started.
I was actually introduced to the world of injectables as a dentist! I began by treating TMJ problems with Botox, then continued with different certifications in Botox and fillers to complement my smile makeovers. During the quarantine period, the most common emails from my patients were that they wanted to get in for their injectables... they were missing their smooth skin and plump lips! So, I had the idea to open an injectables boutique in a convenient location where my guests could feel comfortable and pampered- even if just for 15 minutes of their day!
What are some of your favorite moments of running your business?
I love having a guest that is a newbie to injectables. They're usually scared that they won't like it, or that they won't look like themselves. I always assure them that I'm a very conservative injector (which I completely am) and that we'll start small and check in with them in 2 weeks. They're always so happy with the result (and sometimes even want more!)
Do you have any hobbies that you do outside of running your business?
Yes! I'm all about being active. During the summer I ride my bike by the lakefront, during the winter I ski, and all year round I salsa dance with my husband!
What is one of the best pieces of advice you have received?
Do what you love and success will always find you. I totally love and believe in cosmetic injectables. These small procedures are less drastic and very light on the downtime and they make our guests feel fabulous! I think my excitement shines through to our guests- when they look good, they feel good, and that's what makes me happy!
