Read on to learn more, such as what Eliza loves about running her business and some of her favorite hobbies.
Give us a small backstory of how your business started.
Our story begins on August 28, 1991 (the same day I was born!) when my father Peter started Peter V's Framing. He started framing out of our basement while having a day job. Through excellent craftsmanship and customer service, the business quickly grew and he moved to a store front. In
the last 29 years, he's worked with clients such as Harpo Studios, the movie Home Alone, ESPN, Disney and Barak Obama's Chicago office. I've worked side by side with my dad for the last 13 years, and he taught me everything I know. We were the best of friends, and it was so devastating
to lose him to pancreatic cancer in July of 2020. I ultimately decided that re-branding as Eliza V's Framing & Printing was the best option moving forward. Though the name has changed, the same passion and creativity still thrive here. As we turn 30 in the coming months, I'm proud to
take the reins of my family business and lead the charge for another 30 years!
What are some of your favorite moments of running your business?
One of the many things I love about my business is I meet so many different people and I'm exposed to different types of art. It's so fun to meet and chat with my clients and learn about their art and the story behind it. However my absolute favorite thing, is unveiling the finished product. It makes me so happy to
see a client that's thrilled with my work. It's just the best!
What is one thing that many people may not know about you or your business?
What people may not know is that I'm gearing up to launch an e-commerce page to our website. We will be selling printing services, ready-made frames, framing hardware and more. Even though it's in the name, people might not know that I can make stellar archival prints 44 inches wide by any length.
Do you have any hobbies that you do outside of running your business?
Yes, I love photography! Although I don't get the chance to get out there and take photos as often as I'd like, cityscapes and landscapes are my favorite to shoot. I also enjoy interior decorating.
What are some businesses you love in Lakeview or Roscoe Village?
There are so many great spots in Lakeview and Roscoe Village it's hard to choose! I love the Cathy Lancaster Gallery. It's so vibrant and colorful, right up my alley. Cathy is lovely and so are her works of art! My new favorite pizza spot is Coal Fire. I can't believe I didn't try these guys sooner. Absolutely delicious pizza! I also really love Paulina Meat Market. I've been going there for years and couldn't be happier!
What are the best ways people can support your business right now?
