Join SSA 27’s Community Mosaic Workshop To Participate in the Tiling & Installation
The Lakeview Public Art Committee and Special Service Area (SSA) 27 are proud to bring a community-driven mosaic to West Lakeview! The mosaic will be installed on the south wall of the UPS Store located at 3501 N. Southport Ave. and will represent the connectivity of Lakeview across the four seasons.
Our aim is to engage the community in all aspects of the mosaic; from conception to execution, we've looked to local residents and businesses for input, ideas and feedback. Now, we are calling on YOU to help us bring the mosaic to life. That's right – we are holding open workshops for the community to contribute to the mosaic tiling and installation! Led by our project partner Greenstar Movement, these workshops will take place onsite at the mosaic wall of 3501 N. Southport Ave. and will provide an opportunity to help create West Lakeview's first mosaic. The community tiling workshops will be held during the following dates and times:
Wednesday, May 11th - Friday, May 13th: 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM
Wednesday, May 18th - Friday, May 20th: 3:30 PM - 6:00 PM
You can join us for 5 minutes or for the full 2.5 hours, on just one of the scheduled days or all six days. There is NO wrong way to get involved and RSVPs are not required for small groups, so you can join us at any point during the above dates and times!
However, if you and / or your organization would like to bring a large group of 15-20 individuals to help tile the mosaic, please reach out to Nicole McLellan at nicole@lrvcc.org or 773 472 7171x102 to schedule a separate tiling workshop.
