Give us a small backstory of how your business started.
Our business started when we moved into Lakeview into a bigger building and that change shook our prior business up. We reformed as Lakeview Center for Psychotherapy and we renewed our mission to provide high-quality, accessible, flexible psychotherapy to the community.
What are some of your favorite moments of running your business?
One of the most gratifying parts of my business is training new therapists and watching them grow more confident as their training progresses.
What is one thing that many people may not know about you or your business?
One thing people still might not know is therapy is not just for the “mentally ill.” Everyone can benefit from therapy. Also, anyone who is committed to making the effort can make changes in their mind and their life.
Do you have any hobbies that you do outside of running your business?
I am part of an all-therapist improv team called The Therapy Players. I also love singing and dancing and doing yoga.
What are some businesses you love in Lakeview or Roscoe Village?
I love Cafe El Tapatio, Frasca Pizzeria & Wine Bar and Village Discount Outlet.
What are the best ways people can support your business right now?
Help reduce the stigma of mental illness and seeking therapy.
